If you don’t know, now you know – De La Soul

In honor of the boys dropping a new killer reunion album, completely funded via a Kickstarter campaign – “And the Anonymous Nobody” – we thought we would go back to where it all started…

De La Soul – 3 Feet High and Rising

3 Feet High and Rising is the debut studio album from the American hip hop trio De La Soul, released March 14, 1989. It marked the first of three full-length collaborations with producer Prince Paul, which would become the critical and commercial peak of both parties. It is consistently placed on ‘greatest albums’ lists by noted music critics and publications and has been famously referred to as the record “unlike any rap album you or anybody else has ever heard.” In 1998, the album was selected as one of The Source Magazine’s 100 Best Rap Albums. Our pick of the songs on the albums, other than the classic “the Magic Number” is “D.A.I.S.Y. Age” for a bit of light hearted fun. If you haven’t heard, go check it out.  And if you don’t know, now you know!
